Editorial policy

Every calculator and guide on this site summarizes publicly published certification requirements. This page explains who writes that material, how it is reviewed, and how we keep it current.

Who writes and reviews

Content is written by the Operation Optimize editorial team. Where a page carries a named reviewer in its byline, that person is a credentialed behavior analyst who has read the page against the source requirements. If no reviewer is named, none has been recorded — we do not imply a review that did not take place.

How requirements are sourced

  • Every regulatory claim traces to a published BACB document or page, listed in the page's sources section.
  • Each source carries the effective date we read it under, so a superseded requirement is visible as such.
  • An automated compliance watch re-reads those sources on a schedule and flags wording changes for human review before any page is edited.
  • The byline on each page shows the date of the most recent verification, computed from that stored record rather than typed by hand.

How calculations work

Regulatory math — the 5% supervision requirement, professional development unit totals, cycle dates — runs through one shared, deterministic rules engine. The website, the machine-readable pages and our structured tool endpoints all call the same code, so an answer does not change depending on where you asked.

What this content is not

These pages are not legal, regulatory or certification advice, and they do not determine your compliance. Always confirm current requirements with the certifying body before acting on them.
