BACB Gateway: what it is and what replaced it

What changed from the Gateway
According to the BACB's portal transition guide, applications are now submitted directly in your portal account, missing items are flagged in the application, and you can see your status (for example, "Awaiting documents" while a transcript is outstanding). Requests that used to go through PDF forms and the Contact Us form, such as voluntary inactive status, moved into the portal too. Only applications you qualify for appear.
The BACB keeps a Portal Updates and Known Issues page for problems reported since the launch. Check it before contacting the BACB — your issue may already have a fix or workaround.
Logging in
- Go to the BACB's own site (bacb.com) and follow its account link — don't use links from unofficial emails.
- Sign in with the email address on your BACB account and use password reset if needed.
- If you no longer have access to that email, the BACB asks you to contact them through its Contact Us form.
- The BACB recommends a computer browser if the site misbehaves on a phone or tablet.
Operation Optimize never asks for, stores, or uses your BACB login. There's no public connection to BACB accounts, so any tool that asks for your BACB password should be treated with caution.

How the portal fits into renewal
RBTs now renew every two years with 12 PDUs per cycle — see the RBT renewal deadline guide and RBT PDU tracker. BCBAs complete 32 CEUs every two years, covered in BCBA CEU requirements and the BCBA recertification checklist. The portal is where you submit; planning the pace is up to you.
Keep your own records alongside it
The portal is the official record, but keep your own copies of certificates, CE documentation and supervision logs so you can answer an audit or a new employer quickly. Your Professional Passport holds those documents in one place, and you can upload what you download from the BACB portal.
